Last night was one of those evenings in Freemasonry that reminds you exactly why you joined the Craft.
It was a special occasion for the Lodge a double Raising to the Third Degree. But for me, it was deeply personal. The two candidates weren't just Brothers; they are my closest friends, men I had the privilege of introducing to Freemasonry. Watching them take those final steps to become Master Masons was a profound moment of pride.
We gathered at the Windsor Lodge a place that holds a very specific and unique significance in the Masonic world. I would love to tell you exactly why a Third Degree at Windsor is so unique, but as we say, my lips must remain sealed (lest I incur some rather ancient and unpleasant consequences!).
The atmosphere was calm and relaxed. The guests actually outweighed the members, which is the highest compliment a Lodge can receive. It proves that when the ritual is performed with passion and precision, Brethren will travel from far and wide to share in the moment.
And what a moment it was. A double ceremony is no small feat, yet the two lads performed their parts to perfection. Their preparation showed exactly how much Freemasonry means to them. They treated the degree with the reverence it deserves, earning every bit of their advancement.
Now that they have reached the sublime degree of a Master Mason, the doors are fully open. They can witness everything the Craft has to offer, and their journey of learning and growing truly begins.
Here’s to the new Master Masons. The work is done, but the journey continues
